Two interconnected lines located to the north-east of Paris have been selected for the test track in France:
 |
a section of the high-speed line (circumventing Paris) for level 2 tests at speeds up to 350 km/h and |
 |
a suburban line, the Tournan - Marle-en-Brie line, for ERTMS level 1 tests. |
The High Speed trial site is a 30 km line of double bi-directional electrified (25 kV 50Hz) track between Neumoutier and Jabelines interlockings.
The line is equipped with relay interlockings and TVM 430 track-to-train transmission and Automatic Train Protection. The tunnel area is covered with antennas and in Charles de Gaulle airport area.
The ERTMS level 2 signaling is overlaid onto TVM 430. As far as RBC are concerned, three RBCs equip the test track and have been centralised in la Chapelle just north of Paris-Gare du Nord.
The main objective of this pilot line is to test and certify TGV applications - ERTMS compatibility with KVB and TVM - especially the future TGV East application. As a double-car train has been especially equipped with EERTMS equipment, one car having received Alstom equipment (Atlas TM 100 and 200), the other car having received Ansaldo equipment.
The suburban line trial site, 10 km long, located between Tournan and Marles-en-Brie, north-east of Paris. The maximum speed on this line is 120 km/h. The environment of the line is rural and suburban with two major stations. It is equipped with 2 types of relay interlockings (PRS and PRCI). ERTMS level 1 is fitted for both directions with 3 and 4 aspects block line side signals.
A dual equipment KVB and ERTMS level 1 equips the line.
