New ERTMS contract in the Netherlands
25/05/2009
Saint Ouen Cedex, France - The Hanza Rail Team consortium consisting of Alstom and its Dutch partners Volker Rail, Strukton Rail and Arcadis, has signed a contract with Dutch infrastructure operator ProRail for the construction of the new railway line between Lelystad and Zwolle, known as the “Hanzelijn” line. The line - which is 50 kilometres long - will come into commercial service at the beginning of 2013. The contract totals €170 million, of which €27 million for Alstom. A 15-year maintenance contract for the signalling system was also awarded to Alstom.

Alstom will equip the new line with its Atlas control and signalling system, which is compatible with the ERTMS Level 2 standard, and will install the national ATB system.
